A Hannibal man is found guilty in a child abuse case.

A Marion County jury returned the verdict Thursday in the trial of 31 year old Dustin Dye on felony child abuse charges. Dye was convicted of harming a seven month old infant known as Baby Nora in June of 2014. Sentencing is set for October 14th.

Dye is alleged to have assaulted the infant, identified only as Nora, while he was in her care on June 3. The baby’s mother told authorities she observed the baby was hurt when Dye picked her up from work. The child was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital, then transferred to St. Louis Children’s Hospital for treatment.

Dye is held in the Marion County Jail.
