A Quarter Madness Night will be held in Hannibal at Veteran’s School on Thursday, April 25.  The event will begin at 6:30 and is put on by the Veteran’s School PTO.

St. James Lutheran Church and School is holding their 3rd annual Dogwood Block Party and the public is invited. The event will begin at 5:30 on Friday, May 3rd at the school at 17th and Jefferson and will feature food, games, shaved ice, kettle corn, a bounce house and more.  The block party is free to attend.

The Flower Children, American Cancer Society Relay For Life Team, is hosting its 19th Annual Spring Fling Dinner/Auction on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the American Legion Building in Palmyra, MO. The fun-filled evening includes social hour at 5:00, dinner catered by HATS Restaurant at 6:00, and live auction at 7:15 with proceeds benefiting the Relay For Life of Marion County. The Hannibal Jaycees will be hosting their 2nd Annual Pitch, Hit, & Run at Bear Creek Sports Park! This event is for ages 7-14 and is a skill competition event focusing on the areas of pitching, hitting, and running. This event takes place on May 5th at 2pm registration begins at 1pm. The Barry Food Pantry’s 2nd Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, May 5 at 8am at Bow Lake Golf Course.  The cost is $240 per team which includes 18 holes of golf with cart, mulligans and skins.  Food will also be provided. For more info, contact Gloria Brinkman at 335-2845.

Join the Chamber for a NEW series of informational sessions about local government. Session Two will feature school board, park district, and Quincy Area Convention & Visitors Bureau officials discussing how they work together, the authority each has and how you can get involved. Session Two is on May 6 from noon to 1 p.m. at City Council Chambers in Quincy, 730 Maine Street. Cost is $10 for lunch. Bring your questions as there will be time for Q&A.

24th Annual Loafers Car Show in historic downtown Hannibal will be held on Saturday, May 11th. Judged classes include street Rods, Street Machines, Trucks, Corvettes, Mustangs, street Rods, Street Machines, Trucks, Corvettes, Mustangs, Classics, Pro-street, Rat-Rods, Imports, and many more. There will be a free BBQ Friday evening 5/10 and free t-shirt for all preregistered entries. Show space limited to 350 entries. Meals on Wheels is holding a Cook’s Night Off event on the third Thursday of the month throughout 2019. It’s a fundraiser for the Meals on Wheels program as they offer eat-in, carry-out, or drive thru meals for just $7 each.  All meals include either Fried Chicken or Roast Beef, two side dishes, bread and dessert.  The hours for each 3rd Thursday of each month are 4 to 6pm at the Senior Center at 639 York Street.

Beta Zeta Sorority/Epsilon Sigma Alpha will host their 10th Annual St. Jude Children’s Hospital Benefit at Spirit Knob Winery on Friday, May 17, from 6 to 11 pm. Live music by Raised on Radio will begin at 7:00 PM. Food and drink will be for sale (no outside alcohol), plus a 50/50 Raffle and Door Prizes. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the event. The Bridge the Gap to Health Race will be held on May 18th and features a 5K, 10K and Half Marathon for the competitive runner as well as a 5K leisure walk that start at 8:00 a.m. The Paul Arndt Kid’s Fun Run starts at 9:30 a.m. The event has hosted a multitude of competitive runners over the years, and maintains a family-friendly atmosphere.

A Fish Fry & Crawfish Boil will be held on Sunday, May 19th from 11am to 2 pm in Monticello, Missouri. The Fry & Boil will be held on a free will offering basis. This community event will help raise money for the Monticello Lodge #58
