Travis Lane Charged With Second Degree Murder

A Hannibal man is charged with second degree murder in connection with the death of a Hannibal woman earlier this month.

The charges were filed Wednesday morning against 49-year-old Travis Lane.

Lane is accused of striking 28-year-old Jennie Jo Blankenship multiple times in the head and torso. Blankenship’s body was found in a bathtub in an apartment at 218 South 9th in Hannibal August 16.

Lane is in the Marion County Jail on unrelated burglary and drug charges from a July 3 incident.
