A Dallas City man is arrested on DUI and meth related charges over the weekend.

Hancock County Sheriff Travis Duffy reports a deputy was on patrol in Dallas City about 10 p.m. Saturday when he stopped a car that was speeding.

An investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, 60 year old Keith Eggleston of Dallas City for speeding, illegal transportation of alcohol, DUI and possession of methamphetamine.

Eggleston was released on his own recognizance.

 

A Kirksville man who encouraged another man to fatally shoot a teenager has been sentenced to 27 years in prison.

Twenty-year-old Andrew Head was sentenced Tuesday for second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Head was convicted in June in the February 2019 death of 17-year-old Izaiha McFarland.

Prosecutors said Head persuaded Drake Zanoni to shoot McFarland.

Zanoni is awaiting trial on second-degree murder and armed criminal action charges.
