Adams County Sheriff’s deputies say 24 year old Eric Rueb is charged with failure to yield a full lane to emergency vehicles, improper use of an electronic communication device and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Deputies and Tri Township Fire crews were on the scene of a car-deer crash at mile marker 12 when a vehicle traveling at or near the 70 mile per hour speed limit hit a reflective sign and narrowly missed a fire engine, fire fighters, a deputy and two civilians. The report indicates the
driver—later identified as Rueb locked the brakes…swerved off the road and hit a tree head on. Rueb admitted to deputies that he was on his phone and just happened to look up but that it was too late to avoid the emergency scene.
