Over 100 Traffic Crashes in Missouri During the July 4 Holiday

Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers report working 114 traffic crashes over the 4th of July Holiday.
Those crashes resulted in 59 injuries and three fatalities. Troopers report making 40 DWI arrests and 38 drug related arrests. Boating statistics from the Patrol show five crashes on Missouri waterways resulting in two injuries. There were also two drownings. Troopers report three arrests for boating while intoxicated and eight drug related arrests on Missouri waterways. This year's July 4th counting period ran from 6 p-m Tuesday July 3rd through 11:59 p-m July 4th. During a 102 hour counting period a year ago... there were 26 highway fatalities and 469 injuries from just over a thousand traffic crashes.
