A traffic stop by Monroe City Police Thursday afternoon leads to several charges.
During a traffic stop at North Oak and Court streets police say they attempted to arrest Adrian Jones on an outstanding Marion County felony warrant. Police say a fight ensued and Jones resisted arrest and assaulted two officers before fleeing on foot. Monroe City Police say Jones was taken into custody a short time later and was taken to the Marion County Jail. In addition to the Marion County warrant, charges are pending against Jones for felony assault on a law enforcement officer and interfering or resisting arrest.
