Two Suspects Arrested, Possibly Connected with Missing Woman

Two men were arrested Thursday who may be connected with the disappearance of a Monroe City woman.

Monroe City Police responded to a 911 call at a Monroe City home and arrested 29 year old Jerry Asbell of Monroe City for first degree kidnapping, second degree assault and armed criminal action.

A second man, 26 year old Linkon Harold Rickard was arrested in Shelby County Thursday after eluding police in Monroe City. He has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, resisting arrest by fleeing and property damage.

An investigation continues into a possible connection of Asbell and Rickard with the disappearance of 32 year old Amanda Johnston from her Monroe City apartment Wednesday.
