Weather permitting, the delayed resurfacing of McMasters Avenue in Hannibal begins Thursday night.

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports that Bross Construction will begin by making pavement repairs in the northbound driving lane between Highway 36 and Palmyra Road.

Resurfacing begins in earnest next week with the milling off of the old surface and putting down a new surface.

MODOT officials say the work will require a lane closure in the direction in which work is progressing and will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. to cause minimal impact to traffic.

All lanes will be open during daytime hours.

The resurfacing, which will extend from north of the Highway 168 intersection to just north of Warren Barrett Drive, is expected to continue through early July.
