The dismantling of the old Champ Clark Bridge at Louisiana is scheduled to continue next week.

According to officials with the Missouri Department of Transportation, the next step in the removal of the old bridge begins next week with the dismantling of the first span over the railroad tracks on the Missouri side.

MODOT says the truss span will be removed in segments, with a barge-mounted crane placing sections on a barge.

Weather permitting, the work will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, November 5th and 6th and Monday, November 11th.

Portions of the work will require lane restrictions and a one-hour closure of the new bridge.

Crews are awaiting the necessary approvals to implode the spans on the Illinois side of the old bridge.
