The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has awarded a contract for resurfacing of a stretch of Audrain County road damaged in a gas pipeline explosion in March.

MODOT reports that Christensen Construction of Columbia will do the repairs on the one-third mile stretch of Missouri Route 15 north of Mexico for a little over $140,000.

The road was damaged when a Panhandle Eastern gas line exploded on March 3rd.

MODOT will be working with Panhandle Eastern to recoup the cost of responding to and repairing the damage caused by the explosion.
