About a year’s worth of road improvements on Illinois 57 in Adams County begins Monday.

The Illinois Department of Transportation reports improvements on 57 from Maine Street in Quincy to just south of Marblehead get underway Monday.

The project involves pavement patching and resurfacing, replacement of two bridge decks, improvements to intersections and pedestrian accommodations.

Motorists are advised there will be lane closures with width reductions and flaggers.

If you travel this stretch of road between now and June of 2021, you should expect delays and allow extra time for your trip.
