Two Year Old Boy Drowns

A two-year-old boy was pronounced dead Wednesday after a drowning incident Monday on Quincy's south side.

Adams County Coroner Jim Keller says Prayvin Lance McBride-Meyer died at St. Louis Children's Hospital.

The preliminary cause of death is accidental drowning, but the Adams County Sheriff's Office is still investigating. McBride-Meyer was found in an above-ground pool just before noon on Monday by a daycare provider. He was taken to Blessing Hospital and later transported to St. Louis.

There will be a candlelight vigil to honor McBride-Meyer Thursday at 8 p.m. near the fountain at Clat Adams Park in Quincy.
