A man accused of killing his father with a crossbow and leaving the body in a freezer is scheduled for trial in March.
Marion County Prosecuting Attorney David Clayton says the trial of Carl Goldberg is scheduled for March 7th through March 9th in Monroe County. Goldberg is accused of second degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting 84 year old Carl Maxwell with a crossbow. Maxwell’s body was found in a freezer in a house at 2034 Broadway in Hannibal in October of 2015. Investigators believe he was killed in February. Goldberg was arrested in Las Vegas. He is held in the Marion County Jail.
