Missouri Power Grid Strained by Extreme Heat – Outages Possible

The good news is the current heat wave baking Missouri will get give us a break by the weekend. The bad news is we're not there yet and there are reports that the power grid is being strained with at least one city utility reporting the possibility of outages.

The Hannibal, Missouri Board of Public Works shared this alert earlier Tuesday morning about how the current extreme heat is causing issues with power suppliers.

The Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives shared this graphic current as of this writing showing places in Missouri currently without power.
