If you'd like to be prepared for what's coming to Missouri, you'd better prepare for change. That's what meteorologists warn is in store for Missouri over the next week as they're describing incoming temperatures as a wild rollercoaster ride of extremes.

The National Weather Service in St. Louis, Missouri has an interesting outlook for the next several days into the start of the second week of October. The warm temperatures you're enjoying (OK, so if you get hot easy, maybe "enjoying" is not the right word) are going to continue to increase getting closer to the weekend. That ramping up of temps will continue into the first half of the weekend.

But, wait for it...

By early next week, many parts of Missouri will dive down quickly to the point where you'll see freezing temperatures during the overnight hours. Frost on the pumpkins indeed. I'm not gonna say that I told you so, but I told you so.

I tried to verify the forecast temperatures from the National Weather Service actual forecast, but so far they only have official outlooks through Saturday. However, The Weather Channel does show that Hannibal (for example) will only have a high temperature on Monday of 60 with overnight lows just barely above freezing at 35. Tuesday's forecast shows a low of 34 so frost is a definite possibility.

But, wait, there's still more...

Does this mean Fall is here to stay? Not so fast. The Weather Channel shows highs go back up to 78 by Sunday, October 20, 2024.

There you have the rumored Missouri temperature rollercoaster. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.
