Timothy Brokes Extradited to Marion County for Shootings

A Hannibal man wanted in connection with three shooting, one of which resulted in the death of a Hannibal woman, is back in Marion County.

Sheriff Jimmy Shinn reports that 34 year old Timothy Brokes was extradited back to Marion County late Thursday morning.

Brokes had been wanted by authorities in Hannibal and Marion County in connection with the shooting of Aaron Gauch on a Marion County road west of Hannibal Wednesday night, and the fatal shooting of Gauch’s wife, 30 year old Brittany Gauch in Hannibal about two hours later.

Authorities caught up to Brokes Wednesday night in Monroe City. He is alleged to have shot a Monroe City Police officer before being shot himself.

Both men were hospitalized for treatment of their wounds. Brokes was released from an Illinois hospital and taken to the Marion County Jail.

Aaron Gauch is in critical condition as a result of his wounds.

A woman traveling with Brokes Wednesday night, identified as June Smith, was also taken into custody on a Ralls County warrant and put on 24 hour hold for assault on a law enforcement officer

Bond for Brokes has been set at $100,000 cash only.
