Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Shinn says the man hijacked a car and shot at another car just after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

A Public Safety Alert was issued about 4:30, saying a 27 year old male was in the area near Hardee’s in Palmyra, wearing a tactical vest, red bandana, white t-shirt and plaid pants, and armed with a handgun.

Police say the man headed north. He was last seen on County Road 334 near Doyle Manufacturing, where they believed the man was unarmed but still considered dangerous.
The man was apparently headed for the Quincy area. He is wanted on a warrant for home invasion in Illinois.

Officials say the ground and air search for the man will continue Wednesday.
