The man who had been the subject of a manhunt in Ralls and Marion counties was taken into custody Wednesday morning.

The Highway Patrol reports the man was taken into custody on the Doyle Manufacturing property north of Palmyra at 7:53 a.m. Wednesday.

The 27 year old man, who was wanted on an Illinois home invasion warrant, was first spotted on Highway 36 in Ralls County Tuesday afternoon.

A Public Safety Alert issued at the time said the man was in the Palmyra area north of Hardee’s.

The man is also reported to have hijacked a car and fired shots at another car.

He eluded authorities until his capture Wednesday morning.
