Palmyra Named One of Missouri’s Best Small Towns for 2024

This is me giving the entire town of Palmyra a big ole pat on the back. They were just named one of the best Missouri small towns to live in for 2024 by the internet.

This isn't my list although I do agree that Palmyra deserves this awesome shout out from the website Homesnacks. They just shared their best small towns in Missouri for 2024 list and Palmyra gets a mention. Sweet.

How does one determine what's a great Missouri small town and what isn't?

The methodology used by Homesnacks appears to factor in housing values, median household income, population and unemployment among other things. Here are the numbers they shared for Palmyra:

• Population: 3,613
• Median Income: $60,694 (59th Best)
• Median Home Value: $201,577 (87th Best)
• Unemployment Rate: 1.6%

Overall, they rated Palmyra at #15 for best Missouri small towns for 2024. Nice.

Full disclosure: I have never lived in Palmyra myself, but I have numerous family that have and/or do. If you see someone in town with the last name Frankenbach, they are related to me somehow, but don't hold that against them. My point is that I have a special place in my heart for Palmyra and even though some may think internet lists are trivial (most of the time I would agree with you), it's nice for national media to give a shout out to one of our small places that normally get ignored.

Well done, Palmyra. Now you have a lot to live up to in 2024, but no pressure.
