Victim Identified, Suspect Arrested in Quincy Shooting
The victim has been identified and an arrest has been made in a fatal shooting in Quincy early Wednesday morning.
Quincy Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 700 block of Cedar just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Officers arrived to find 26 year old Emond Morris of Quincy, who was pronounced dead of a gunshot wound.
A short time later, police arrested 51 year old Christopher Huckstep in the 1200 block of North 12th.
Police report Huckstep was in possession of a firearm at the time of his arrest.
QPD notes that the victim and the suspect knew each other, so this was not a random crime.
Huckstep has been charged with three counts of first degree murder and lodged in the Adams County Jail.
Huckstep’s first court appearance will be either Thursday or Friday.
