Who would know if a place has bed bugs? Answer - a company who has been hired professionally to do away with them. That's why I pay attention to Orkin's annual list of worst bed bug destinations.

Only one Missouri city ended up in the Orkin top 25 places for bed bugs and that is Saint Louis. But, there is a tiny bit of good news to go along with this. According to the previous ranking from last year, Saint Louis was #18 in America for bed bug infestations. Now, they've fallen to #25. At least there is some improvement if you're trying to view this as a "glass half full" sort of thing.

Don't laugh if you're in Illinois and Missouri's bed bug issues as Chicago is once again #1 for these awful nocturnal attackers. Champaign and Peoria are also top 50 places to avoid if bed bugs freak you out.

The reason why most people shudder at the thought of staying someplace with bed bugs is the fact that they can infest your luggage and then travel with you to your home. Talk about a vacation or weekend getaway completely ruining your month.
