Quincy Medical Group Proposal Short of Required Votes

Members of the Illinois Health Facilities and Review Board could not agree on Quincy Medical Group’s proposed new surgery center in Quincy.
At a meeting in Bolingbrook Tuesday, three members voted yes. Two voters abstained. All five board members needed to vote yes to approve the facility in the former Bergner’s facility in Quincy Mall. QMG officials plan to address comments from board members at a future meeting. Blessing Health System officials say the proposed facility would be a duplication of existing services.
