An investigation into a series of break-ins and burglaries last weekend in Lewis County leads to the arrest of a Quincy man.

According to Lewis County Sheriff David Parrish, his office received a tip Wednesday on a possible suspect in Canton. A deputy contacted the suspect who fled on foot.

A short time later, 19 year old Quintez Cissna, was taken into custody. The deputy also located a backpack Cissna had thrown onto a rooftop. The backpack contained a handgun reported stolen from Adams County.

Cissna was charged Thursday with resisting arrest, receiving stolen property and possession of a stolen firearm.

Charges in connection with the break-ins and burglaries are pending.

Cissna is currently on probation from Adams County.

He is lodged without bond in the Lewis County Jail.
