Sheriff David Parrish reports that back on December 14, deputies responded to a report of shots fired at a residence west of Ewing.

The victim told deputies that a neighbor had fired a gun into a wooded area near the victim's home and threatened to harm him.

An investigation led to the arrest of 82 year old Larry McCracken of rural Ewing.

McCracken has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm (he has a prior federal firearms conviction) and fourth degree assault.

McCracken was released on bond.

On December 15, Lewis County deputies arrested 34 year old Dewan Lloyd of La Belle on outstanding Lewis County warrants for failure to appear for resisting arrest and pending drug charges.

Lloyd is in the Lewis County Jail on $15,500 cash only bond.

The Sheriff's office got a report December 10 about an employee of the Casey's in La Belle stealing lottery tickets. Casey's management called deputies after an internal investigation.

The sheriff's investigation determined that 46 year old Ashlee Bruner of La Belle allegedly took about $120 worth of lottery tickets.

Bruner was arrested and issued a summons for misdemeanor stealing.
