Our area Prospect League baseball teams will be well represented at the league’s all-star game next week.

League officials have announced the rosters for the game to be played Tuesday, July 23rd at the Corn Crib in Normal.

All-star game activities include a Home Run Derby at 7 p.m. Monday. Prior to the derby there will be an autograph session with MLB legends Andre Dawson, Whitey Herzog, Bill Madlock and Rick Ankiel.

The All-Star game itself will be preceded by a luncheon at the Radisson in Normal, with Ankiel and Madlock returning as guest speakers.

The game itself starts at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday.

Thirty players from each division have been selected as all-stars.
Among the players on the west squad are outfielder Jared Wegner, first baseman Kyler Kent, infielder Joe Roscetti and pitcher Hunter Becker from the Hannibal Hoots.

The Quincy Gems will be represented by outfielder Tyler Clark-Chiapparelli, infielders Kyle Crowl, Kal Youngquist and Joey Polak and pitchers Ty Peccioli and Nick McRandal.
