If you’re a fan of Prospect League baseball, you’ll have to wait for the opening of the 2020 season.

Commissioner Dennis Bastien announced Wednesday the summer college league’s season, which was to have begun May 28th, has been pushed back to July 1st.

Bastien also said that date would be subject to decisions by national, state and local governments, along with health organizations and group gathering guidelines.

The Prospect League has teams in 12 cities in five different states.

The league includes the Quincy Gems and the former Hannibal Hoots, who moved to O’Fallon, Missouri after the 2019 season.
