Pilot Escapes Injury in Helicopter Crash Near Pittsfield

No injuries are reported following a helicopter crash at 11:40 Thursday morning north of Pittsfield.
The copter was spraying a wheat field at the time of the crash. The pilot—26 year old Reiss Herbert of Perry Louisiana walked away from the crash without injury. The crash is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration. Pike County Sheriff’s deputies, Pittsfield firefighters, Pike County EMS and the Pike County Emergency Management Agency responded to the crash site just east of
Pike County Highway 3 on 270th Avenue.
