Homeless Man Arrested in Pike County IL for Theft, Obstruction
A homeless man is in the Pike County, Illinois Jail on a variety of charges.
Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood reports deputies made a traffic stop at the entrance to the Barry Travel Plaza just before midnight Monday. An investigation revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen in Marshall, Illinois, and 38 year old Evan Bright was taken into custody without incident.
Further investigation indicated Bright had also allegedly stolen cars in Terre Haute, Indiana as well as Marshall, Illinois. Deputies also learned that Bright had been injured after fleeing from police and crashing a different stolen vehicle before being stopped in Pike County.
Bright is charged with unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle, obstructing justice and speeding.
