Two are hurt and three are ticketed after a one car crash on 430th Street south of Griggsville in Pike County, Illinois just before 1 a.m. Monday.

The Illinois State Police reports a 14 year old juvenile male from Griggsville was southbound at a high rate of speed, lost control of his car on the gravel. The car ran off the road, struck an embankment and overturned.

The driver was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. One of his passengers, 18 year old Nathanial Plue, also of Griggsville, was airlifted to an area hospital with injuries.

A second passenger, 20 year old Lawrence Gobbel of Mount Sterling, was not hurt.

The juvenile was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and no valid drivers’ license. Gobbel was ticketed for permitting an unauthorized person to drive. The driver and both passengers were also cited for failure to wear a seat belt.
