One Injured in Car-Train Collision Southeast of Monroe City
A Monroe City woman escapes with minor injuries after the car she was riding in was hit by a train.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a car driven by 21 year old Olivia Kiser of Monroe City failed to stop at a railroad crossing on Hazzard Lane three miles southeast of Monroe City. The car hit the rightfront of a westbound Norfolk Southern freight train. The Kiser car then hit a utility pole. A passenger in the Kiser car—17 year old Alexis Ytell of Monroe City was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
