Motion Hearing Cancelled in Lovelace Case
A motion hearing scheduled for Friday in the first degree murder retrial of Curtis Lovelace was cancelled.
According to Special Prosecutor Ed Parkinson, the hearing was cancelled mainly because of a response filed Wednesday by Lovelace’s defense team to the state’s motion to have phone records of Quincy Police Detective Adam Gibson excluded and destroyed.
The motion hearing was rescheduled for September 30th in Adams County Circuit Court. A case review is set for September 8th.
Curtis Lovelace is alleged to have killed his first wife, Corey in February of 2006. His first trial for the crime resulted in a hung jury earlier this year.
The retrial is set for October 24th.
