The office of the Marion County Recorder of Deeds is warning of a mail scam making the rounds.

According to Recorder Harla Friesz, Marion County residents are getting letters asking them to mail in $87 to get a copy of their real property deed.

Friesz says these letters are not coming from the Recorder of Deeds office and are part of a scam.

Friesz says that property owners can get a copy of their deed from her office for a nominal fee.

You can get more information by calling the Marion County Recorder of Deeds office at 573-769-7001.
