Lovelace Files Appeal of Bond Money Ruling
Attorneys for Curtis Lovelace have filed an appeal on a judge’s ruling on the refund of bond money posted on his behalf.
Judge Bob Hardwick ruled last month that the $350,000 bond posted by a Champaign County law firm and a friend of Lovelace should be refunded, minus a $35,000 bond fee to the Adams County Circuit Clerk’s Office.
Lovelace has appealed the issuing of the bond fee to the Illinois Appellate Court Fourth District.
Lovelace’s attorneys have also asked that he be declared indigent, without any income or assets. That would enable Lovelace to move forward with the appeal at no cost.
No future court dates have been scheduled.
