Karen Torres Request to Reconsider Sentence Denied

A request to reconsider the sentence of a woman in connection with the death of her daughter was denied in Adams County Circuit Court Tuesday.

30 year old Karen Torres was sentenced in June to a year in jail and two years’ probation after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm without a FOID card.

Torres and three others were charged in connection with the death of seven year old Melina Torres last year at a family gathering in rural Adams County.
