Combes Pleads Guilty and is Sentenced for Role in Melina Torres’ Death
A Quincy man pleaded guilty and was sentenced Monday for his role in the shooting death of a seven year old girl last year.
31 year old Shannon Combes pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon by a felon and was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison by Judge Debra Wellborn.
Combes is a friend of the family of Melina Torres. The girl was allegedly shot and killed accidentally by a three year old during a family gathering at the home of the girl’s grandmother near Beverly on May 20th, 2016.
The grandmother, Julie Roberts-Cole, pleaded guilty in October to obstruction to a peace officer and will be sentenced later this month.
Melina Torres’ uncle, Daniel Roberts, has already been sentenced to prison and Melina’s mother, 31 year old Karen Torres, is expected to enter a plea to an obstruction charge next week.
