Wouldn't you know, just as schools in northeast Missouri and western Illinois get back into session, more August-like temperatures are predicted to settle in this week.

National Weather Service forecasters say that high temperatures will start in the mid-80s Monday, will hit 90 Wednesday, and will hover in the low 90s through Sunday. Low temps are on the way up, as well, with lows in the low 70s the rule from midweek through the weekend.

After a wet weekend, a chance of showers and thunderstorms is in the forecast Monday night, and then Tuesday night through Sunday. The best chances of rain are predicted for Monday night, Tuesday night and Thursday night.
