It appears that summer is about to reach its hottest moments of the year this next week as Missouri residents are being warned to prepare for three days of dangerous heat by forecasters.

The National Weather Service in St. Louis, Missouri today issued a warning to alert Missourians that the next 3 days will be brutal when it comes to the "feels like" temperatures.

It will begin to heat up Monday afternoon, but by the time Tuesday begins, both Missouri and Illinois will experience triple digit "feels like" temperatures that will last almost through the end of the week.

This forecast from the National Weather Service in St. Louis for Hannibal shows that actual temperatures will reach into the 90's beginning Monday afternoon with little relief until perhaps next weekend.

It's possible there will be some relief from showers and thunderstorms that are possible several afternoons this week, but the heat will not relent much even if that happens.

NOAA's Climate Prediction Center says that the first week and a half of August is also expected to be sweltering with above average temperatures likely through the middle of the month at least.
