After a cool and blustery weekend, the un-May-like temperatures, with rain beginning and ending with work week in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

According to National Weather Service forecasters, a good chance of showers moves into the area Monday afternoon, with the chance continuing through Tuesday.

The rain goes away Tuesday night, with sunshine expected Wednesday and Thursday. Lesser chances of precip are in forecast Thursday night, with thunderstorms also a possibility Friday and Friday night.

Right now, the forecast calls for a sunny and warmer weekend.

High temperatures will be on the upgo through the week, starting in the upper 50s Monday and winding up in the upper 70s Sunday.

Lows will be in the low to mid 40s through Wednesday, moving into the low to mid 50s Thursday through Saturday.
