The weeks starts out foggy, with cooler temperatures and chances of rain for the holiday weekend ahead for northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

National Weather Service forecasters posted a Dense Fog Advisory for the area through mid-morning Monday, with another warm day ahead. Monday's highs are expected to hit the low 90s.

The cool down begins Tuesday, with highs only reaching the low to mid 80s through Sunday.

Lows for the week will hang around the mid 60s, with the exception of Tuesday, when a low in the mid 50s is predicted.

Slight chances of showers and thunderstorms move into the forecast Thursday through Saturday night, with sunshine forecast for Sunday.

The long range outlook for the Fourth of July calls for sunny to partly cloudy skies with highs in the low 90s.
