A traffic stop for speeding on Grand Avenue in Hannibal late Wednesday night also results in an arrest on drug charges.

Hannibal Police stopped a car driven by 37 year old Joshua Evans of Quincy at 11:28 p-m. A K-9 unit from the Ralls County Sheriff’s department was brought in. During a search, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found. When the drugs were located, police say Evans fled on foot. He was quickly apprehended and taken into custody.

Evans is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and speeding. Warrants were issued Thursday in 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County charging Evans with trafficking in drugs, manufacturing a controlled substance and resisting arrest. Evans is in custody on a $100,000 cash only bond.
