Hannibal Man Charged in Theft From a Church
A Hannibal man is under arrest in connection with the theft of funds from a church.
Ralls County Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie says 68 year old Donald White of Hannibal is charged in the theft of over 300-thousand dollars from parishioners of Antioch Baptist Church. White faces two federal counts of wire fraud and is being transported to St. Louis by the FBI for incarceration. Sheriff Dinwiddie says the investigation started after a suspicious fire which destroyed the Antioch Baptist Church on December 20, 2016. White was an elder and long time treasurer of the church and was suspected by other parishioners of being involved in the large scale theft of church funds just prior to the fire according to the Sheriff’s department. The investigation was conducted by the Ralls County Sheriff’s office with assistance from the FBI… Internal Revenue Service and Missouri Fire Marshal’s Office.
