For the first time in over a hundred years, the Hannibal Courier Post is under local ownership.

Quincy Media Incorporated assumed ownership of the newspaper Monday. QMI also owns and operates the Quincy Herald Whig and WGEM TV and radio. The Courier Post is Missouri’s oldest daily newspaper. Daily publication started in 1853. Lee Enterprises of Davenport Iowa owned the paper from 1907 until 1969 when it was sold to Stauffer Communications. Gatehouse Media bought the Courier Post from Morris Communications in 1995.
