The Board of Directors of Quincy Media announced Monday the sale of the company’s stock to Gray Television, a public media company headquartered in Atlanta.

Gray reportedly purchased the television and radio stations of Quincy Media for $925 million dollars.

Along with WGEM television and radio, the sale includes TV stations in Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, New York and Wisconsin.

The sale is subject to approval by federal regulators.

The media group that became Quincy Media has been in operation since 1926.

The sale does not affect the Quincy Herald-Whig or the Hannibal Courier Post, which are being sold separately.
