Missouri’s oldest daily newspaper will officially be under new ownership later this summer.

Officials with Quincy Media announced Friday that they have agreed to purchase the Hannibal Courier-Post, with the deal expected to close later this summer.

Quincy Media President and CEO Ralph Oakley says, “By bringing ownership back home to Hannibal, we feel the Courier-Post will shine as one of Missouri’s finest local newspapers.”

The Courier-Post is currently owned by GateHouse Media, based in New York State.

Quincy Media owns and operates the Quincy Herald-Whig and WGEM-TV and Radio, along with properties in 16 television markets.
