A Hancock County man dies after suffering a medical emergency while behind the wheel Monday afternoon.

According to Hancock County Sheriff Scott Bentzinger, the 64 year old Dallas City man lost consciousness while driving and crashed about 3:35 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Highway 9 and County Road 2700 North.

A passenger in the car, a 58 year old woman also from Dallas City, was unable to get control of the car before the crash.

The woman was taken to Great River Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff Bentzinger said more information would be released pending notification of family.
