A Hancock County man faces a variety of charges as the result of an incident Sunday.

Hancock County Sheriff Scott Bentzinger reports that deputies responded to a report of a suspicious man in rural Hancock County about 2 p.m. Sunday.

The caller told deputies that the man was trying to forcibly enter their home.

Deputies arrived and stopped the man trying to leave the property in the victim’s vehicle.

As a result, 36 year old Kent Elder of Ferris was arrested for burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful use of weapons and DUI.

Elder was taken to the Hancock County Jail. Bond was set at $25,000.
