An attempted traffic stop results in the arrest of a Nauvoo man on a variety of charges.

Hancock County Sheriff Travis Duffy reports deputies tried to make a traffic stop for violations Monday night on a motorcycle near Powellton.

The driver of the cycle failed to stop, but eventually lost control of his bike and fled into a grassy area.

Taken into custody was 40 year old Joshua Seymour of Nauvoo. A search of the area where he was caught revealed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Along with an outstanding Hancock County warrant, Seymour was charged with speeding, fleeing and eluding, operating an uninsured vehicle and possession of meth.

Seymour is lodged in the Hancock County Jail.
