Part of a 45 billion dollar capital improvement plan for Illinois includes work in the Quincy area.
During a stop in Quincy Thursday, Governor J.B. Pritzker says the state is putting money toward a new Mississippi River Bridge at Quincy. Pritzker says; "Illinois isn't just making temporary repairs and patching up its past mistakes. Our state is finally investing in the future."  Pritzker says Illinois 57 will get a complete rebuild from Maine Street in Quincy to the south end of Marblehead. Work on that project is scheduled for the upcoming construction season.  Work on over 42-hundred miles of Illinois highways are included in the capital improvement plan.
