A derailment Tuesday early afternoon south of Bevier temporarily blocked a grade crossing on Macon County Route C.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says three freight cars carrying coal derailed en-route to a power plant at Clifton Hill. Coal spilled into a wooded area. Burlington Northern-Santa Fe crews uncoupled the rest of the train from the derailed cars and cleared the crossing. No injuries are reported. No word at this time on the cause of the derailment.
